He agreed that his feeling were kind of unfounded.

He was worried about forgetting important bits of information, coming across as boring and unprofessional, but I knew he had practiced his presentation many times, just like me. I assured him that his slides would prompt him, that the equipment had all been checked and that I had seen him practice and he was great.

He began to relax, lost his sickly complexion and strangely enough so did I. Everything I had told him was, I knew, also true about myself. My nerves had calmed; not totally, but I was a LOT less nervous for sure. In helping him, I had also talked some sense into myself and made myself feel much better!  

The result was, we were both still nervous but we both, nevertheless, did a good job. Colleagues commented afterwards that they had no idea we were nervous at all and that our presentations were both professional, clear and self-assured.
